Smallfry worked with the team at Perrigo to design the Steripod UV Toothbrush Steriliser Clip. Once clipped on to your toothbrush, Steripod’s powerful ultraviolet light reduces 99.9% of harmful bacteria in just 2 minutes, improving your toothbrush’s hygiene at home and on-the-go.
Through evaluative research and considered design, we delivered their UV Toothbrush Steriliser Clip – a fresh addition to Steripod’s product range that’s easy-to-use, stylish, and brand-aligned – bringing meaningful benefits to the user as well as to the Steripod brand.

We developed a compact solution in response to the variety of user needs uncovered in the research phase, ensuring convenience and versatility for every user. From in a pot or wall-mounted at home to traveling overseas, the Steripod clip-on UV steriliser supports users in improving their toothbrush hygiene in a way that suits their lifestyle.


We incorporated Steripod’s signature intuitive pinch clip through careful design integration. Our process involved detailed surface treatment to achieve subtle textures and a simple monochromatic colour scheme. The considered use of frosted plastic helped break up the form and accentuate the clip feature, ensuring that the visual brand identity was both cohesive and distinctive.






Through prototyping and 3D printing, we rapidly iterated and refined our design. This allowed us to quickly test and adapt various prototypes, evaluating size, form, and usability while reducing development time and costs. It was crucial to the process to ensure we maintained the essence of the visual brand language established by Steripod’s original product.


Through rigorous market research, we tested numerous competitor products to uncover unique insights. This informed our design process, enabling us to introduce a solution that offered a fresh perspective in a crowded market.
