Engineering Design Show 2021 – Reconnect

Earlier this month, Smallfry exhibited at the inaugural EDS reconnect show. A brand-new, virtual event for the Engineering Design sector split across two days. The event featured a sterling line-up of speakers and sessions.

Smallfry were fortunate to speak on the Human Centred Design in Medical Device Development. An introduction to insightful, creative, user-driven design thinking techniques and activities, to an ISO13485 & ISO14971, quality and risk-managed, stage gate, product development process.

This was the first time Smallfry had exhibited at a virtual event, however, the success and organisation of the physical shows ran by the team was part of our motivation in taking part.

Before the event, we were set up with a virtual booth with space to upload a video and other supporting material and given access to the attendees. This enabled us to book some meetings in advance to maximise the event and the opportunity to host a session gave us further opportunity to gain new contacts.

During the day some of the Smallfry team were on hand to answer queries and host virtual online meetings with potential new clients who are looking to develop new products.

The team at EDS had put together a well organised, structured event. If virtual is the new normal then we’re looking forward to the next one.
