Smallfry Wins “Industrial Product Design of the Year Award” at the Plastic Industry Awards 2018

We are proud to announce that Smallfry has won the “Industrial Product Design of the Year Award” at the Plastic Industry Awards 2018, for our work on the Quanta Dialysis technology SC+, a dialysis machine designed to empower patients.

Dialysis machines are cumbersome and require a deep technical skill-set to operate. Smallfry, in partnership with Quanta DT, developed an intuitive, user centred system that can be operated by both doctors in the hospital and patients in the home. This focus on user centred design to make technology accessible to dialysis users made Smallfry stand out to the judges.

John E. Milad, Chief Executive Officer of Quanta commented upon hearing the results, saying: “This award is testament to all their hard work and efforts, and we would like to dedicate it to all the engineers and designers whose enthusiasm made this development possible.”

Launched in 2001, and held annually in London, the Plastics Industry Awards are dedicated to rewarding innovation and exceptional performance in an increasingly competitive market. Sixteen categories cover materials usage, product design, manufacturing, training and environmental performance, and entries are judged by a panel of industry experts.
